Lighting Horns Skull Test | Real-Time 3D Environment & Lighting Study

This project is a cinematic 3D lighting and material exploration focused on a stylized ram skull with detailed organic horns. The main goal of the study was to test how different lighting setups affect shape readability, material response, atmosphere, and visual impact in a real-time rendering workflow.

The piece combines dark fantasy aesthetics with cinematic color contrast, using warm rim lighting and cold volumetric illumination to enhance the silhouette and emphasize the sculpted forms. Special attention was given to the interaction between bone surface detail, horn roughness variation, and atmospheric fog to create a strong portfolio presentation suitable for game art and real-time rendering pipelines.

The skull was sculpted with a focus on believable anatomical structure while maintaining a stylized artistic direction. Texturing work explores aged bone surfaces, micro surface variation, erosion patterns, and procedural roughness breakup to avoid a plastic appearance and achieve a more grounded material definition.

This project served as a lighting benchmark to evaluate:

silhouette readability
cinematic composition
atmospheric depth
color harmony
material response under contrasting illumination
